Police investigate suspicious death of woman in Hamilton apartment

Hamilton police are investigating the suspicious death of a 38-year-old woman in an apartment downtown.

Officers responded to the building at 195 Ferguson Ave. North around 11 a.m. Thursday for reports of a woman who was found dead in her unit.

“The victim was pronounced deceased on scene as death was obvious,” police said in a news release Friday.

Investigators believe the woman died late Sunday evening or early Monday morning.

Detectives were at the scene Thursday to investigate. Police say they are concerned with the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death based on the evidence.
