Police investigate stabbing on Hamilton Mountain

A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital following a stabbing on Hamilton Mountain.

It happened late Wednesday afternoon near Upper James St. and Stone Church Rd.

Police say the man was found suffering from stab wounds.

Witnesses called police and attempted to help the victim.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 21-year-old Hamilton man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Police say the men are known to each other and this was a targeted incident.

They say there is no concern for public safety at this time.
