Police investigate robbery at Hamilton convenience store

Hamilton police are investigating after a west end convenience store was robbed by a man who claimed to have a gun.

Shortly after 4 a.m. on June 20, police say a man walked into the store and approached the counter. The thief told staff he was armed and demanded money and cigarettes.

He then fled on foot and was last seen travelling westbound on Main St. and then northbound on Binkley Rd.

No one was injured during the incident and no weapon was seen.

Investigators have released two photos of the man wanted in connection with the robbery. He is described by police as Caucasian, with dark brown or black hair, a medium build, and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball hat with a red brim, and a black face mask.
