Police investigate home jewelry theft in St. Catharines

Niagara police are investigating the theft of sentimental jewelry valued at $50,000 from a St. Catharines residence in February.
The theft was from a home in the area of Read and Lakeshore roads when the person who reported the missing items was out of the country.
A family member had hosted a party at the residence on Feb. 22 in which a number of teens were present. It’s believed the items were taken at this time.
Police say that the jewelry holds deep sentimental value for the complainant, and includes a woman’s diamond ring and a Cartier Santos-Dumont watch (not pictured).
Detectives assigned to the case have asked area pawn shops and jewelry stores to contact police if anyone attempts to sell items matching the descriptions.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact investigators at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009610.
