Fire shuts down popular restaurant The Bedrock Bistro

A popular Flintstones-themed eatery in Hamilton will remain closed today after a fire broke out in the kitchen late Wednesday.

Firefighters were called to the Bedrock Bistro restaurant on Queenston Road around 9:30 p.m.

Crews were able to contain the fire in about 30 minutes but remained on scene until after midnight.

Hamilton Fire Officer Claudio Mostacci says the fire started in the kitchen and may have been the result of equipment being left on and igniting some grease.

Damages are estimated at $90,000.

Hamilton Fire says no injuries were reported and the fire has been deemed not suspicious.
