Police investigate double murder in Markham

York Regional Police are looking for any information following the murders of two women in the city of Markham.

On Tuesday a 47-year old man turned himself into police. The investigation led police to an apartment and parking lot in Markham where they found the bodies.

The victims have been identified as 35-year old Haimwanti Persaud of Ajax, and 42-year old Chi-Ling Yip of Markham.

David Howe has been charged with 2 counts of first degree murder. Police believe he knew the two victims.

The cause of death has not been determined.
