Hamilton man arrested following carjacking at mountain gas station

UPDATED
Hamilton police have arrested a 43-year-old man following a carjacking at a Hamilton Mountain gas station.
Police say two women were stopped at a gas station near Fennell Ave. East and Glenford Ave. around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
They say one of the women was at the pump filling up a jerry can with gas when she saw a man get into the passenger seat of the car.
The man began to struggle with the driver and attempted to shift the car into drive. He then yelled at the woman to get out of the vehicle and she complied.
The man took off in the vehicle westbound on Fennell Ave. but was located about an hour later when police responded to a person pulling an apartment fire alarm in the area of Mohawk Rd. East and Moxley Dr.
Jamie Dawes, of Hamilton, was arrested and charged with robbery, fail to comply with probation and two counts of fail to comply with release order.
Investigators say the women were not injured during the incident and the vehicle was returned.
