Burlington teen dies after falling off school roof

After reviewing security video from Nelson High School in Burlington, Halton Police say they do not suspect criminal activity in the death of a 19-year-old man, Saturday.

In a release, police said the man was walking by himself around the school at about 3:00 a.m. It appears he climbed up onto the roof of the school a short time later and was observed falling off.

The man’s family has been notified but at their request, police will not release his name.

Emergency crews were called to 4181 New Street at about 9:25 a.m. Saturday morning after a resident found the body about 15 feet from the school, near Belvenia Drive.

A post mortem will be conducted to try to determine the exact cause of death.
