Police investigate armed robbery at St. Catharines sub shop

Niagara police are investigating after a sub shop in St. Catharines was robbed at gunpoint.

It happened shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday at a business on St. Paul St. West.

Police say a man armed with a firearm entered the shop and approached an employee who was closing up for the evening.

The thief demanded the staff member hand over cash and proceeded to flee the store with the money.

He was last seen heading eastbound on St. Paul St. towards downtown St. Catharines.

No one was injured during the incident.

The robber is described as white, roughly five-foot-eleven, with a medium build. He was wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a black and white belt, red bandana, black and white shoes, and gloves.
