Niagara police are investigating after a body was pulled from the water in Port Dalhousie.

Employees at St. Catharines Hydro contacted officers around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday when they found a deceased person in the water while working near Heywood Generating Station.

The coroner went to the scene and the body is now undergoing a post-mortem examination and positive identification.

Detectives from the forensic services and marine units are assisting Niagara police with the investigation.
