The investigation has been taken over by the Division Three Criminal Investigation Branch.
Detectives are appealing to area residents to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity.
The shooting comes less than a day after a deadly shooting at a Raoabe Restaurant on Upper Ottawa St. near Stone Church Rd.
A 26-year-old man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the bar and lounge around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. He later died in hospital.
Hamilton police say they have no reason to believe the two shootings are related.
Cst. Krista-Lee Ernst says police are actively investigating both incidents.
“One shooting in our city is absolutely way too much. Investigators are working diligently to locate suspects,” said Ernst.
Ernst added that Hamilton police have responded to 29 shootings so far this year. At this time last year, Hamilton had recorded 51 shootings.
