Niagara regional police have identified the two women who were killed in Fort Erie on Tuesday as 20-year-old Juliana Pannunzio of Windsor and 18-year-old Christina Crooks of Toronto.

Police say on Monday a group of people, including the two victims, were staying at a short-term rental property on the Niagara River Parkway.

Around 4 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a 911 call for a possible shooting at the home.

Forensic detectives worked inside the house where the two bodies were found with what police are describing as “obvious trauma to their bodies.”

Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying the origin of take-out food found at the scene. The food order, in a grey plastic bag, had the number ‘923’ written on it. A cheeseburger, fries, chicken wings, celery, carrots and blue cheese was packaged in four white styrofoam containers along with ‘sunspun’ ketchup packages.

On Wednesday officers spent the day at the scene, searching the Niagara River for evidence.
