Police identify fourth homicide victim in Hamilton this year

Hamilton police have identified the 38-year-old female victim found dead in her apartment on Thursday.
Danielle Strauss of Hamilton has been confirmed as the city’s fourth homicide victim this year.
Officers responded to Strauss’ apartment at 195 Ferguson Ave. North around 11 a.m. Thursday after the woman’s body was discovered by building staff.
“The victim was pronounced deceased on scene as death was obvious,” police said in a news release last Friday.
Investigators believe Strauss died late Sunday evening or early Monday morning.

Police are not releasing the cause of death as it remains as evidence in their ongoing investigation.
Hours of video recovered from 195 Ferguson Ave. North shows four youths recorded on camera leaving the apartment in question.
During a press conference, Det. Sgt. Steve Bereziuk said he was not able to release specific details about the youths considering the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
They are described as two white 16-year-old males, one white 14-year-old female, and one black 14-year-old female.
Homicide detectives continue to work to identify these youth so they can be located.
