Fans are mourning the death of Robin Williams.

The actor and comedian was found in his California home around noon yesterday by his personal assistant. Keith Boyd from the Marin County sheriff’s office held a news conference earlier this afternoon regarding their investigation into Williams’ death.

“The preliminary results of the forensic examination revealed physical supporting signs that Mr Williams’ life ended to asphyxia due to hanging. Toxicology testing will be conducted to determine whether Mr Williams had any chemical substance in his system at the time of his death.”

“Toxicology results will not be available for approximately for two to six weeks while the testing is being performed.”

Williams’ wife was the last to see him around 10:30 pm on Sunday night. He was found by his assistant on Monday morning with a belt around his neck.

A news conference will be scheduled when the investigation is concluded and the final results are ready to be released.

CHCH will have a one-hour special edition of 20/20 looking at Williams’ life and death, tonight at 10, followed by the latest details from Nick Dixon on the Evening News at 11.
