Police find likely body of missing school teacher

Durham Police say a body they found Saturday afternoon is believed to be that of missing Whitby school teacher Jeffrey Boucher.

Police say they believe the body belongs to 52-year-old Boucher, but a post-mortem will be done to confirm the identity and cause of death.

Earlier this month, police announced that a woman found a shoe which was thought to belong to the missing teacher. This prompted a larger search investigation.

Detective Jeff Kennedy says there is nothing so far that appears to be suspicious about Boucher’s death.

The school teacher had been last seen heading out for a morning jog in January.
