Police charge Oakville mom in 2022 death of 2-year-old child

Halton police have charged an Oakville mother following a 2022 investigation of the death of a two-year-old child.

Officers say they started an investigation on June 4, 2022 in the sudden death of a young child that happened inside an Oakville home.

Police say the two-year-old was found dead in a bathtub due to an apparent drowning.

The homicide unit conducted an extensive investigation and as a result have laid charges against the mother of the child.

Nancy Fahmi, 42, of Oakville has been charged with manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death.

Fahimi is scheduled to appear at a Milton courthouse on March 23.
