Police charge Niagara Falls man accused of posting child porn on social media

Police have charged a Niagara Falls man accused of uploading child pornography to social media multiple times.
The force’s internet child exploitation unit launched the investigation in July after the same user posted child pornography on Facebook and other social media platforms.
Officers carried out a search warrant this month at a home in Niagara Falls, where they arrested 19-year-old Richard Stapells.
He has been charged with two counts of possessing child pornography, making child pornography available and accessing child pornography.
Police say Stapells has been held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled to take place later Friday at a St. Catharines courthouse.
