Police charge 3 men after multiple carjackings in Oakville

Halton police have charged three men following a series of carjackings in Oakville.
Officers said the first carjacking happened on May 27 in the Oakville Entertainment Centrum. The second took place on May 30 in the Dorval Crossing plaza. The third carjacking occurred on June 3 at 525 Iroquois Shore Rd.
The suspects targeted newer model Range Rover vehicles in commercial parking lots, police said.
On June 6, one of the suspect vehicles was seen in the area of Sherway Gardens Mall in Etobicoke. Officers said the occupants seemed to be preparing to commit another carjacking of a Range Rover at the mall.
Halton police then intervened and arrested three men. Twenty-two-year-old Marcolammar Layne of Welland, 21-year-old Jayden Mesquita of North York and 21-year-old Augustus Francois of Toronto were charged with robbery, among other charges.
All three suspects were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
