Police charge 18-year-old after replica gun found in Niagara Falls

An 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a replica gun was discovered during a disturbance call in Niagara Falls on Thursday.
Police were called around 8 p.m. to a reported disturbance in the area of Huggins Street near Portage Road.
When officers arrived the disturbance was over, however they say it was then reported that an individual involved had brandished what was believed to be a black handgun during the incident.

Officers were able to locate the individual not far from the scene and upon the arrest found a replica Glock 17 airsoft gun loaded with a single 9mm round of ammunition and equipped with an optic laser.
Matthew Allan Chisholm of Welland now faces charges of pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon, and careless use of a firearm.
The accused remained in custody awaiting a bail hearing set for Friday.
