Police attacked in Burlington

One officer was stabbed in head, another was bitten during domestic disturbance call in Burlington.

Police say the officers were immediately attacked once they entered a home on Plains Road just before five last night. One officer was pushed to the ground and stabbed in the head, the second officer was bitten on the arm while trying to intervene, and a family member was also injured during the brawl.

Officers used a stun gun to subdue the 22-year-old man and take him into custody. He is being held for a psychiatric assessment.

All involved have been released from hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries. No names have been released.
