Police arrest Georgetown man following bank robbery investigation

Halton police have arrested a man following a bank robbery investigation in Georgetown.

Police say a man entered the Royal Bank at 83 Main St. South in Georgetown around 12:45 p.m. on March 27 and demanded cash from the teller.

Officers identified the suspect and arrested him in the area of Guelph St. and Mountainview Rd. on Thursday.

Jonathan Lane, 29, of Georgetown has been charged with robbery and disguise with intent.

Police say Lane was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
