Police arrest Brantford man, 53, for ‘inciting hatred’ online

A 53-year-old man from Brantford is facing a slew of charges after “uttering threats and inciting hatred” online.

Brantford police say they recently became aware of the information posted publicly by the accused, which was threatening and targeting specific communities.

Police say the posts by the accused was determined to be antisemitic – he also encouraged others to commit acts of violence.

On Monday, officers executed a search warrant at a Mohawk St. residence where a large amount of ammunition was found, stored improperly, in a careless and dangerous manner.

As a result of the investigation, police say a 53-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following criminal code violations:

  • Public incitement of hatred
  • Careless storage of firearm (or ammunition)
  • Uttering threats to cause death and bodily harm x 3

Police say the accused has been held for a bail hearing with bail opposed.
