Police arrest 19-year-old following early morning collision

Hamilton police have made an arrest following an early morning collision that involved two vehicles.

Police were called to an address in the 100-block of Hunter Street West shortly before 2 a.m. regarding a car accident.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old at the scene for driving while impaired.

No one was injured in the crash, but the road between Caroline and Bay Street was temporarily blocked.

Images from the scene show that one of the vehicles airbags were deployed in the crash while the other was left sitting sideways in the roadway with its back bumper hanging over the bike lane barrier.

The incident has since been cleared.
