Police appeal to public after early morning shooting in central Hamilton

Police are appealing to the public for information following an early morning shooting in central Hamilton Wednesday.

Officers say it happened shortly after 4 a.m. in the area of Gibson Avenue and Barton Street East.

Emergency crews arrived to find a man in his 20s with a serious gunshot wound.

Investigators believe the shooting happened outside, but are trying to figure out what led to the incident.
