Plane skids off Ottawa runway
The Transportation Safety Board is now investigating why a jetliner skidded off a runway when landing in Ottawa.
There were no serious injuries, as all 44 passengers travelling from Chicago got off the United Express plane yesterday. They were taken into the terminal by bus.
Fire crews had to contain a fuel spill from the damaged undercarriage of the plane.
One frightened passenger, who tweeted from the plane, said people were screaming as the plane skidded and a wing went into the ground.
There was a similar situation with a United Express plane in Ottawa a year ago, with 36 people on board a flight from Washington. Two people from that incident suffered minor injuries.
