Pioneer Energy founder’s family makes $4M donation

A day after announcing the sale of Pioneer Energy for $378 million, the family of founder Murray Hogarth has made a huge charitable donation to an organization that supports Hamilton charities.

Wednesday’s sale of Pioneer to the Parkland Fuel Corporation came on the heels of last month’s death of patriarch Murray Hogarth.

The Hogarth family has donated $4 million dollars to the Hamilton Community Foundation in his honour. The money continues the charitable legacy of the Hogarth family in Hamilton. Over the years they’ve donated to Hamilton Health Sciences, Joseph Brant Hospital, McMaster University and the United Way.
