Pickets delay college students

Officials at Mohawk College are warning about major delays.

It will take longer for students getting onto the Fennel campus with new student orientation today and the start of school tomorrow.
Members of OPSEU will be on the picket lines, and the college says the union is planning to stop each car going in for five minutes.
However, there won’t be pickets at the Stoney Creek and Brantford campuses today or tomorrow.
Mohawk officials say they will do everything possible to maintain essential services for students, including financial aid and registration.

The strike has also cancelled the United Way garage sale set for this Saturday at the Fennell campus.

The college says the union failed to provide assurances that they would not disrupt the annual fundraiser.
