Pickets at former Vertis location

Dozens of former Vertis Communications workers gathered outside the now-defunct printing plant Friday morning.

They are protesting the fact their severance pay has been denied following the sudden shutdown.

They were also blocking trucks from entering the plant.

About 100 employees worked at Vertis when the company announced it was shutting down earlier this month.

A mass picket will be held Monday when Vertis starts taking equipment out of the plant.
