Person treated for non-life-threatening injuries following fire in Hamilton

An overnight fire has caused significant damage to a home in downtown Hamilton.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Charlton Ave. near MacNab St. shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday.

Hamilton Fire Department dispatched at least 15 units to the scene.

Images posted on Twitter show flames shooting from the front windows of the home.

Hamilton police say officers were called to the area shortly before midnight to assist the Hamilton Fire Department.

Police say a male was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, officials do not believe the fire is suspicious.

Damage is estimated at $35,000.
