A Stoney Creek teenager has been arrested in connection with an alleged road rage incident involving a pellet gun.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Monday, police say a vehicle was travelling along Main St. East near King St. in Hamilton when the driver noticed a blue Audi move behind his car. The rear driver started flashing the high beams and then allegedly pulled up beside the other vehicle.

Police say the driver rolled his window down and exchanged some words with the person operating the Audi. “At this time the driver witnessed the Audi driver hold up and point what he believed to be a handgun before leaving the area,” said Hamilton police in a news release.

Officers located the Audi on Centennial Parkway and arrested the driver. Police say they found a metal pellet gun inside the vehicle.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with assault with weapon and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.

He has been released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to be in court on May 17.
