Pelham crash kills one

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in Pelham.

The accident happened on Effingham Street around 6:30pm. A motorcycle and pick-up truck were involved. Police say the motorcycle lost control before hitting the pick-up. A man who lives close to the crash scene told CHCH News he saw a woman lying on the road behind one of the vehicles involved.

Corey Lackas lives near the crash scene: “We heard the accident from our back yard and went out to see. It sounded pretty bad.”

Lackas says this is the fourth serious crash he can remember in the four years his family has lived in the area. The collision reconstruction unit is now investigating the crash. There’s no word on the victim`s name or if any charges will be laid.
