Peel Regional Police seize $12M in illicit drugs

Peel Regional Police have seized $12 million worth of illicit drugs throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

In 2021, investigators began an investigation into an organized group of individuals trafficking large amounts of illegal and controlled drugs. Police say the identified group has strong ties to the Mississauga and Brampton areas.

The investigation was a coordinated effort involving Peel Regional Police, York Regional Police, Toronto Police Service, Homeland Security Investigations, Canada Border Services Agency and the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

Investigators identified several active members and various methods for storing, transporting and supplying the drugs. Officers executed search warrants throughout the GTA in relation to the investigation and seized:

  • 40 Kilograms of Benzimidazole Isotonitazene (A synthetic opioid comparable to fentanyl)
  • 7 Kilograms of Fentanyl
  • 16.6 kilograms of MDMA
  • 12.9 kilograms Methamphetamine
  • 3.7 kilograms of Cocaine
  • 10.7 kilograms of Xanax
  • 120 grams of Psilocybin

Police say the total value of drugs seized was $12,425,013.

As a result, 35-year-old Phi Ho of Kleinburg, 37-year-old Quan-Binh Ho of Toronto and 30-year-old Iman Pazirandeh of Toronto were arrested and charged with multiple offences.
