Peel region to close schools for two weeks

Peel public health will be closing all schools in the region for two weeks because of surging COVID-19 cases.
Schools in Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga will close starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 6 and move to online learning until April 18. Further decisions to extend the order will be made as required.
Peel has seen a significant increase in COVID cases late last week and through the weekend. The closure will allow students and staff to break any chains of transmission and protect them from exposure.
The closures include all Dufferin Peel District Catholic school boards, Peel District school boards, Conseil Scolarie Viamonde, Conseil scolarie Catholique MonAvenir and all private schools.
