Pedestrian struck & killed on Highway 8

A man is dead after being struck by a car just north of Rockton.

The 55-year old man was found unconscious and bleeding. He was taken to Hamilton General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have closed Highway 8, and an OPP reconstruction team will be on scene well into the afternoon.
They are not releasing the victim’s name at this time.
