Pedestrian struck and killed in Burlington

Halton police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was struck and killed in Burlington.

It happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Tuesday on Stratton Rd. just east of Hampton Heath Rd.

Police say a 2018 Mazda was travelling westbound on Stratton Rd. when it struck a 54-year-old Burlington man.

The man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The 77-year-old driver of the Mazda was not injured. Police say speed and impairment were not factors in the crash.

The collision is still under investigation and police are asking any witnesses to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747, ext. 5065.
