Pedestrian sent to hospital after collision on east Hamilton Mountain

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was sent to hospital with a serious head injury following a vehicle collision on Hamilton’s East mountain.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Monday, a vehicle struck an 18-year-old Hamilton woman as she was crossing on the west side of the intersection of Mud and Winterberry streets.

Hamilton police say the pedestrian was struck by a Jeep Wrangler driven by an 18-year-old woman from Hamilton as she was turning left onto the intersection from northbound on Winterberry St.

Investigators say the pedestrian was knocked to the ground and suffered a serious head injury. She was then taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police say the driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
