Pedestrian in hospital after ‘serious’ crash in Niagara Falls: police

Police say a pedestrian is in hospital following a serious collision in Niagara Falls Thursday morning.
Officers responded around 10 a.m. to the intersection of Morrison St. and Law Ave. after a vehicle struck the woman.
Paramedics transported a 73-year-old woman to an out-of-town trauma centre for “advanced medical care.” She remains in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the two infant children that were being pushed in a stroller by their grandmother at the time were not injured and they were assessed by paramedics on scene.

Police say the driver of the involved green 2001 Ford Mustang remained at the scene and was not injured.
Officers say the 52-year-old driver from Niagara Falls has been charged with careless driving.
Morrison St. was closed between Stanley Ave. and Portage Rd. for an investigation, but has since reopened.
