Niagara police arrest 74-year-old man after St. Catharines hit-and-run

Niagara police have arrested a 74-year-old St. Catharines man after a hit-and-run Monday morning that left a pedestrian seriously injured.
The incident happened at the intersection of Carlton Street and Grantham Avenue around 8 a.m.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was taken to an out-of-region hospital.
In connection with this incident, Michael Gospodarek has been charged with failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm.
Gospodarek has also been charged in relation to a separate incident with impaired driving.
He is now being held in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Tuesday in St. Catharines.
