Multiple people killed after pedestrian bridge collapses at Florida International University

Officials say multiple people have been killed in Florida after a pedestrian bridge collapsed onto a road below.

A newly installed bridge collapsed at Florida International University in the Miami Area. The 950-ton span fell this afternoon at the university’s main campus.

In addition to those killed, eight people have been taken to the hospital. As many as eight vehicles were trapped underneath .
