Paying for parking at GO

Metrolinx is reportedly looking at the possibility of charging commuters to park in GO Transit parking lots.

The provincial agency tasked with overseeing regional transit is looking at the TTC model. Toronto Transit collects about $10 million every year by charging for the use of close to 13,000 parking spaces. GO has more than 65,000 parking spaces that it shares with VIA. While the head of Metrolinx said he was not considering charges for parking, at a board meeting this week, he said that might be reconsidered.
