Pat Summitt has died at 64

Legendary women’s basketball coach for the University of Tennessee has died.

Pat Summitt, the winningest coach in D-1 history has died at the age of 64.

Summitt, who compiled more than 1,000 victories and captured 8 national titles as the University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach, died Tuesday morning.

She was diagnosed with early-onset alzheimer’s disease in 2011. In a statement, Pat’s son Tyler, said Summitt’s impact went far beyond the hardwood.
