Pastor of Oakville-based church charged with sexual assault

The pastor of The Meeting House Church in Oakville is facing sexual assault charges.

Hamilton police arrested and charged 57-year-old Bruxy Cavey on May 31 following reports of sexual assault.

Officers said Cavey was the primary teaching pastor at the church during the time of the assault. He was employed there from 1996 to 2021.

While The Meeting House Church has its headquarters in Oakville, it has remote locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Cavey is scheduled to appear in court on June 27.

Police believe that there may be more victims and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
