Part of Hamilton’s King St. East reopens after vehicle strikes down hydro pole

Hamilton police have reopened a portion of King St. East after a vehicle struck down a hydro pole Wednesday morning.
In a tweet at 10 a.m., officers asked motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area between Holton Ave. and Proctor Blvd. as there were live wires on the street.
AVOID THE AREA:
King Street is closed between Holton Ave & Proctor Bvld. Hamilton Police are investigating after a vehicle struck a hydro pole.

Crews from the utility company Alectra arrived shortly after to help clear the scene.
Police reopened the street nearly one hour after the collision.
