Hamilton police have reopened a portion of King St. East after a vehicle struck down a hydro pole Wednesday morning.

In a tweet at 10 a.m., officers asked motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area between Holton Ave. and Proctor Blvd. as there were live wires on the street.

Crews from the utility company Alectra arrived shortly after to help clear the scene.

Police reopened the street nearly one hour after the collision.
