The sign of a Minneapolis park has mysteriously been changed to commemorate George Floyd.

The park is officially called George Todd Park.

But residents noticed a decal on the sign, which reads “George Floyd Park.”

Officials say they don’t know who changed the sign or when exactly it happened.

They have no plans to remove the decal.

Floyd died on May 25, when an officer pressed his knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes.

The park is located about 5 kilometres from where it happened.

Floyd’s killing and the killing of other Black and Indigenous people has prompted protests and calls to defund police in the U.S. and in Canada.
