Paris, Ont., high school student charged, hold and secure lifted after weapons incident

A 15-year-old has been charged following a weapons incident that placed Paris District High School in a hold and secure Friday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police in Brant County received a report around 12:30 p.m. of a disturbance involving a student at the secondary school on Grand River Street North.
Officers say Paris District High School was then placed in a hold and secure in accordance with the school’s policy.

Investigators say no injuries have been reported.
OPP have arrested and charged a teen with assault with a weapon.
A spokesperson for the Grand Erie District School Board says the hold and secure was lifted around 2:30 p.m. and all students and staff are safe.
