Paris to Ancaster bike race

A West Lincoln man will brave the rough terrain that the Paris to Ancaster race is best known for this weekend. He’s doing it to raise awareness about mental health and to give back to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
Mathew Bradbury is gearing up for this weekends 25th annual Paris to Ancaster 70 kilometre race. Sidelined last year because of knee surgury, he says he’s ready to take on the course this year.
The driving force behind his race, his mom. She struggled with depression most of her adult life and she may have lost that battle three years ago but Mathew intends to keep up the good fight.
He says St. Joesph’s outreach team for seniors mental health had a profound impact on his mother and his family.
Organizers are expecting about 3500 people to take part in the race and while their reasons vary, the money they raise goes back to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
Last year the race raised roughly $100 000 for research at St. Joe’s.
