Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones follows a curious group of teenagers that break into a dead neighbour’s apartment. Inside they discover black magic artifacts, stacks of VHS tapes and most shockingly photographs of one member of the group, Jesse (Andrew Jacobs). The visit leaves the group with more questions than answers, and Jesse with a mysterious bite mark on his arm. He becomes a marked one, a vessel for an otherworldly demon, and must rely on his friends to discover a way to banish the demon before it’s too late.

Christopher Landon, in charge of the series since Paranormal Activity 2, directs The Marked Ones. The film is more akin to a spin-off of the horror franchise instead of a sequel. While it maintains the home-video/found footage shooting style The Marked Ones moves away from the conventional haunted house and into a Latino community on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The core Paranormal Activity series returns with its fifth instalment on October 24, 2014 but fans can get their fright fix early with Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.
