Pandas en route to Canada
A pair of pandas bound for Canada left for China on Sunday.
“Er Shun” and “Da Mao” are expected to arrive in Toronto Monday morning. Under an agreement signed by the two countries, the pandas will live in Canada for 10 years, spending five years at the Toronto Zoo and another five at the Calgary Zoo.
The loan of the two pandas was agreed on last year during a visit to China by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Animal protection experts will accompany the pandas during the 12 hour flight.
