There is finally some good news for Hamilton’s Pan Am Stadium. The city got word Friday night that the facility is “substantially complete” and the keys will be handed over.

Now the stadium needs to be prepared for upcoming scheduled events and the Pan Am Games.

Infrastructure Ontario notified the city Friday night that the construction was substantially complete. There are still a few minor things to be done, but most of the $145 million stadium is finished.

A number of construction delays and a small fire brought completion down to the wire with an international soccer match scheduled for May 29th. and an open house May 21st. The Pan Am Games start in july.

Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger was at the Stadium Saturday, and says he’s elated that it’s ready to roll.
