Pakistan plane with 107 passengers crashes near Karachi

A plane carrying 107 people on board has crashed in a crowded neighbourhood on Friday near Pakistan’s International airport in southern Karachi.
According to The Associated Press, Karachi’s mayor said five or six houses were destroyed in the crash.
The flight took off from Lahore and was set to land in Karachi before it went off the radar.
There were 99 passengers and eight crew members on the flight.
At least 11 bodies have been recovered and taken to hospital. It is unclear if those fatalities involve victims from the ground or the plane.
The country had recently lifted restrictions due to COVID-19 on domestic flights ahead of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fir.
